About the Project
Meridian constructed the Stage 3A expansion at Russell Gulch Landfill, combining major earthwork with a new geosynthetic liner system, leachate collection infrastructure, and a surface impoundment. The landfill cell and surrounding cut areas covered approximately 5.1 acres, with another 1.0 acre dedicated to the surface impoundment and surrounding cuts.
Meridian self-performed excavation, subgrade preparation, leachate piping, demolition, and dewatering. The project also required adapting to an owner-directed cell redesign and a change in the leachate-sump location.
