Field Operations and Safety
Safety on a Meridian job site is built into the plan, not added after it. The same crews responsible for the work are responsible for how it gets done safely, every day, on every site.
Plan the Work. Prepare the Team. Perform It Safely.
Safety does not sit beside the construction plan—it is part of the construction plan. Meridian evaluates how the work will be performed, where conditions may change, what equipment and qualifications are required, and how each phase can be completed safely and efficiently.
That preparation carries into daily planning, crew communication, equipment inspections, work-area controls, and field decisions. When conditions change, the team reassesses the work before moving forward.

Prepared for Civil, Federal, Industrial, and Mine-Site Work
Meridian aligns training and field requirements with the project environment. Our work may be governed by OSHA construction standards, EM 385-1-1 requirements for federal projects, or MSHA requirements for surface metal and nonmetal mines.
Personnel receive the training, site orientation, task instruction, and documented qualification appropriate to the work they are assigned. Supporting capabilities include confined-space training, rigging, fire watch, emergency response, first aid, and site-specific hazard training. Meridian personnel assigned to surface mine work maintain required MSHA Part 48 training records.

Safety Decisions Stay Close to the Work
Because Meridian self-performs over 90% of our work, the people planning the work, supervising the work, and performing the work remain directly connected. Field leaders are expected to identify hazards, maintain standards, correct unsafe conditions, and stop or change the work when conditions require it.
That direct accountability helps Meridian respond quickly without allowing safety responsibility to become diluted across multiple handoffs.
