Reach 22A Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project / Cutter Dam

Dam / Raw-Water Conveyance / Dewatering

Meridian connected Cutter Dam to a future pumping plant through 4.5 miles of pressure pipeline for the Bureau of Reclamation, including dam intake and outlet modifications, vaults, and a 36-inch conduit. The scope also required trench and rock excavation and construction of a 40,000-gallon forebay tank.

About the Project

Meridian constructed major components of the Reach 22A Navajo-Gallup Water Supply system, connecting Cutter Dam to a future pumping plant through 4.5 miles of pressure pipeline and extensive intake, outlet, vault, valve, and access infrastructure. Work at the dam included a new intake bulkhead, gate structure, downstream 36-inch conduit, sand filter, bifurcation vault, access ramp, and rehabilitation of the existing outlet works.

The project required approximately 18,500 CY of trench excavation, 14,000 CY of rock excavation, 25,000 LF of pressure-rated pipe, horizontal directional drilling, water control, and construction of a 40,000-gallon forebay tank. Meridian self-performed the core excavation, earthwork, concrete, piping, fabrication, and SWPPP scopes.
