American Canal 02 ENHANCED UNDER 800KB

About the Project

Meridian reconstructed 2,600 LF of the American Canal for the International Boundary and Water Commission, removing the existing lining and building new trapezoidal and U-channel concrete sections, closed box culverts, storm-drain inlets, transition structures, and a Replogle flume. The work combined heavy civil construction with groundwater control and contaminated-soil remediation in an environmentally sensitive corridor.

The project included approximately 5,800 CY of structural concrete, 1.03 million pounds of reinforcing steel, and excavation and disposal of 17,000 CY of impacted soil. Meridian also rehabilitated existing structures and fabricated and installed a new pedestrian bridge and trash rack, self-performing 78% of the contract scope.
