Following a competitive bid, Meridian Engineering partnered with Oklahoma DOT to widen a key portion of Murray County Highway 77D to accommodate higher traffic volumes. The project also required an upgrade to the highway’s rockfall mitigation system. These demands posed significant challenges in terms of facilitating drilling and blasting so close to a busy roadway while adhering to major milestone completion requirements and the procurement of critical rockfall components.
Our experts were able to alleviate the heavy road project concerns and accommodate the Oklahoma DOT requirements by hand-selecting the drilling and blasting subcontractor and curating a plan that involved advanced earthmoving equipment and reliable concrete crews. This enabled us to complete the project safely and productively, while promptly reopening the road to local traffic and stakeholders without delay or hazard.
