Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Field Surveyor to join our team. The Field Surveyor will be responsible for conducting land surveys and providing critical measurements and data to support heavy civil construction projects. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in various field conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surveying: Perform precise field surveys using a variety of surveying instruments and technologies, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners. Ensure accurate measurements and data collection.
  • Data Collection: Gather and record topographic, boundary, and construction survey data. Verify the accuracy of data and measurements to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Site Analysis: Conduct site evaluations to assess existing conditions and prepare accurate survey reports. Identify and document any site-specific challenges or issues.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to project engineers and managers by offering survey data and insights. Assist in the preparation of construction plans and designs based on survey results.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of survey data by performing regular checks and calibrations of surveying equipment. Address any discrepancies or errors promptly.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other field personnel to ensure that survey data meets project requirements and supports successful project execution.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed and organized records of survey data, reports, and drawings. Prepare and submit survey reports and documentation as required.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all surveying activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency with surveying instruments and technologies, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Experience with survey data processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center).
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately interpret and analyze survey data.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to non-technical team members.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
