Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Machine Operator to operate and manage heavy construction equipment on various job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders, and will be responsible for performing tasks safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Operation: Operate heavy machinery, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes, to perform construction tasks such as digging, grading, and material handling.
  • Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, grading terrain, and moving materials to designated areas according to project plans and specifications.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns. Report any major mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while operating machinery. Conduct pre-operation safety inspections and ensure that safety equipment is used correctly.
  • Coordination: Work closely with other construction team members, including site supervisors, laborers, and engineers, to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials using heavy machinery. Ensure materials are handled and placed accurately to meet project requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and job site activities. Report progress and any issues encountered to site supervisors or project managers.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address any operational or site-related challenges promptly. Adjust equipment operations as needed to accommodate changing conditions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating various types of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders.
  • Strong understanding of construction site operations and safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in dynamic environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow project plans and specifications.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with other team members.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
