We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex, schedule-driven heavy civil projects that support critical mining infrastructure across the region. This role offers autonomy, responsibility, and the opportunity to build long-term client relationships on meaningful projects.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead heavy civil construction projects for mining operations, public infrastructure, and industrial clients
  • Plan and manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, and work plans
  • Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors to meet key milestones
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, owners, and agency representatives
  • Monitor performance, forecast costs, and proactively adjust resources to maintain profitability
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Represent Meridian with professionalism and integrity on-site and in all client interactions

 

A Typical Day

  • Review progress reports, schedules, and cost forecasts
  • Lead planning meetings with field teams and subcontractors
  • Visit job sites to assess progress, resolve issues, and engage with clients
  • Coordinate procurement, subcontracting, and documentation
  • Provide project updates to owners, engineers, and internal leadership
  • Prepare reports, forecasts, and identify risks or critical path items

 

Measures of Success

  • Deliver projects on time and within budget (±3%)
  • Maintain strong client satisfaction and repeat business
  • Effective coordination of teams and subcontractors through regular preparatory planning meetings
  • Maintain a strong safety culture, including near-miss reporting and regulatory compliance
  • Accurate monthly reporting, forecasting, and financial oversight
  • Develop and maintain Primavera P6 schedules with monthly updates and unit tracking

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction
  • Mining project experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with mine site safety protocols and remote project logistics
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, Procore, MS Project, or similar tools
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Willingness to travel regionally for project oversight
