Lead Field Crews on Infrastructure & Earthwork Projects
Location: Yuma, AZ (projects may require travel across New Mexico)
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour | Based on Experience

Meridian is a trusted civil and industrial contractor delivering high-impact infrastructure across Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. From flood control and road building to mining maintenance, our success depends on strong leadership in the field. We’re hiring an experienced Foreman to lead crews on complex civil construction projects. This position is based in Yuma, AZ with preference for candidates open to extended assignments in New Mexico.
This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role for someone who can motivate crews, manage production, and deliver high-quality work — safely and on schedule.
✅ In This Role, You Will…
Lead and manage crews of operators, laborers, and subcontractors in daily jobsite activities
Maintain daily production goals and work quality expectations
Coordinate materials, equipment, and deliveries with project management
Enforce safety standards and lead daily tailgate meetings
Track crew hours, equipment use, and work completed
Communicate progress and field issues to Project Manager or Superintendent
Read and interpret project plans, layout, and specifications
Mentor crew members and help build a strong team culture
📅 What a Typical Day Looks Like:
Begin with a pre-shift safety meeting and task briefings
Assign crew roles and verify readiness of equipment and materials
Supervise ongoing work, adjusting field strategy as needed
Ensure site safety, production, and inspection compliance
Wrap up with progress tracking and planning for the next shift
📈 Measurements of Success:
Safe, productive field operations with minimal rework or downtime
Positive crew morale and strong communication with office team
On-time task completion and adherence to specifications
Accurate daily logs and timesheet reporting
🧰 Requirements:
3+ years of experience as a Foreman (or similar supervisory role) in heavy civil construction
Strong knowledge of earthwork, grading, utilities, or structural concrete
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and civil construction documents
OSHA 10 or 30 preferred; strong safety leadership track record
Proficient in field layout, equipment coordination, and team supervision
Willingness to travel and work extended durations in New Mexico if needed
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
