🏗️ About the Opportunity:
Meridian Engineering is a civil contractor serving Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado — powering projects that shape our communities. Our fleet of heavy equipment is the backbone of everything we build, and we’re looking for a Field Lube Technician to ensure it stays running strong. This role is perfect for someone mechanically inclined, safety-minded, and ready to travel.

You’ll work independently in the field, performing routine lube service and preventative maintenance on excavators, dozers, scrapers, and more — keeping job sites productive and downtime low.

Successful Team Members in This Role Will…

  • Perform scheduled lube services, fluid top-offs, oil changes, and basic maintenance on heavy construction equipment
  • Log maintenance activity and complete DOT-compliant reports
  • Inspect equipment for early signs of wear, leaks, or mechanical issues
  • Operate service trucks and travel to job sites across AZ, NM, and CO
  • Follow safety and environmental procedures for fueling and waste handling
  • Communicate clearly with mechanics and field supervisors to schedule service windows
  • Track inventory of fluids, filters, and parts for assigned units

📅 A Day in the Life of a Field Lube Technician:

  • Review service priorities and check fleet maintenance schedules
  • Load up service truck with needed fluids, tools, and PPE
  • Travel to a job site and begin service on heavy machinery
  • Complete equipment lube tasks, document activity, and note any concerns
  • Return or relocate for the next assignment — or prep for the following day’s route

📈 Measurements of Success:

  • On-time completion of scheduled service tasks
  • Accurate maintenance records and proactive issue reporting
  • Equipment uptime and fewer unplanned breakdowns
  • Positive relationships with operators, mechanics, and field supervisors
  • Clean safety and DOT compliance record

🧰 Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience servicing or maintaining heavy equipment (construction, mining, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move fluid hoses, filters, and tools
  • Strong time management and ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel regionally and stay overnight as needed
  • Mechanically inclined and attentive to detail
  • Based in or near Tucson, AZ (preferred)
