Mark Sutton co-founded Meridian Engineering & Contracting in 2003 and serves as President and Chief Executive Officer, leading the company’s strategic direction and guiding its continued growth across the Southwest.

At Meridian, Mark works closely with the executive team to align operations, business development, and long-term strategy with the company’s vision. His leadership emphasizes disciplined execution, strong accountability, and a commitment to building a company that can consistently deliver complex infrastructure work with confidence.

Mark has been instrumental in shaping Meridian’s safety culture, ensuring safety is a priority at every level of the organization — from leadership through the field. He is equally committed to employee development, investing in training, mentorship, and leadership growth to build a high-performing team capable of delivering heavy civil, industrial, and mining projects to the highest standards.

With a career foundation at Granite Construction, Mark held roles including engineer, estimator, project manager, and area manager — experience that continues to inform his practical, field-informed approach to leadership. He remains actively engaged in Meridian’s preconstruction efforts, maintaining a close connection to estimating and ensuring projects are positioned for success from the outset.
