Meridian is a top-tier heavy civil contractor working across Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. From mass earthmoving and mining support to flood control and road construction, we build critical infrastructure that serves our communities. We’re hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators with strong scraper skills to support large-scale site development and mining-related earthwork in Tucson and surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on, production-based equipment role for operators who know how to push, pull, and haul in rough terrain and high-demand work zones.

✅ What You’ll Do:

• Operate wheeled scrapers (single or push-pull) in grading, excavation, or haul scenarios
• Read grade stakes or GPS systems to follow cut/fill requirements
• Coordinate with dozer support for effective loading and production cycles
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections; report maintenance issues
• Follow safety guidelines and project protocols for machine operation and traffic flow
• Assist team with basic site layout and material placement as needed

📅 What a Typical Day Looks Like:

• Participate in daily safety meeting and machine assignment
• Conduct walkaround of your scraper and verify functionality
• Begin cut/fill cycles as directed by foreman or GPS layout
• Work closely with finish dozers, haul trucks, and grade crews
• Complete daily equipment log and report issues before shift end

• Willingness to assist in other heavy equipment operations when needed

🧰 Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience operating wheeled scrapers (push-pull or twin-engine)
• Proven work history on heavy civil or mining support projects
• Familiarity with cut/fill layouts, grade checking, and production earthwork
• Ability to work in rough terrain and variable weather conditions
• Must be able to lift, bend, and perform physical labor when needed
• Clean safety record and commitment to operating safely

🔧 Preferred:

• GPS or machine control experience (Trimble/CAT AccuGrade)
• MSHA or OSHA 10 certification
• Ability to operate additional machines (dozer, loader, compactor)

Position is based in Tucson, AZ with occasional project-related travel. Regional work may include southern AZ and surrounding mining regions.
