Location: Tucson, AZ (with regional travel to AZ, NM, and CO)
Pay: Hourly + Monthly Reimbursed Travel Expenses | Based on Experience

Meridian Engineering is a leading heavy civil and industrial contractor serving Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. From mining support to structural concrete and flood control, our work depends on the safe, efficient movement of critical equipment. We’re hiring a reliable CDL A Heavy Equipment Transport Driver with Lowboy experience to haul dozers, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy machinery to job sites across the region. Based in Tucson, AZ, this role is essential to keeping projects moving on time and on budget.
Safely load, haul, and unload oversized and overweight construction equipment using Lowboy trailers
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractors, trailers, and tie-downs
Maintain DOT-compliant logs and ensure all hauls follow permitting, weight, and safety regulations
Coordinate directly with job site teams for delivery timing, equipment access, and unloading procedures
Handle chains, binders, ramps, and securement tools efficiently and safely
Travel regionally (AZ/NM/CO) with overnight stays when required
Represent Meridian with professionalism on-site and while on the road
Begin with a safety meeting and route planning for equipment delivery
Inspect your rig, trailer, and securing systems
Load and secure equipment, checking weight and balance
Drive to a job site or equipment yard, following all transport protocols
Unload on-site and document the successful delivery
Reposition for the next haul or return to base
On-time, safe, and damage-free equipment deliveries
Compliance with DOT and company transport requirements
Minimal mechanical issues due to proactive inspections
Positive communication and coordination with dispatch and field teams
Clean driving and safety record
Valid Class A CDL with current DOT medical card
5+ years of experience transporting heavy equipment
1+ year of Lowboy trailer hauling experience required
Clean MVR and ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Must be physically able to handle load securement tools (chains, binders, etc.)
Must be based in or willing to relocate to Tucson, AZ
