Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sandblaster/Painter to join our team. This individual will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting by removing contaminants and imperfections, as well as applying paint and coatings to various materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in sandblasting and painting, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, smooth, and prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Remove old paint, rust, scale, and other contaminants from metal, wood, concrete, and other surfaces.
  • Mix and apply paint, primers, and coatings, ensuring proper coverage and finish.
  • Ensure the correct use of sandblasting media and painting materials.
  • Perform surface inspections to identify imperfections and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain and clean sandblasting and painting equipment regularly.
  • Follow safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ventilation systems.
  • Prepare and maintain work areas, ensuring they are clean and free of debris.
  • Adhere to all environmental and safety regulations related to sandblasting and painting processes.
  • Communicate with supervisors to ensure job requirements and deadlines are met.

Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a sandblaster and painter.
  • Knowledge of sandblasting techniques, equipment, and materials.
  • Proficiency in the use of painting tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read and follow safety guidelines and technical specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
